Adam Lambert started acting when he was only 10, and that has led to a fantastic career, with stops on Broadway and American Idol along the way. Performing in productions of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown; Hello, Dolly!; The Music Man; Grease; and The 10 Commandments: The Musical, Adam can boast a broad and varied acting and performing background. It was in 2009 with American Idol, however, that he really began to shine and became the star we enjoy hearing every day. As an out and openly gay contestant – the first, actually – Adam has helped a multitude of young gays become comfortable with who and what they are. Using his music as the catalyst, his is making a positive and indelible mark in the lives of many.

In 2009, the eighth season of American Idol kicked off, with hundreds – if not thousands – of wishful singers entertaining high hopes of becoming the next big thing in the music world. Dreams of fame, fortune, freedom, and fun appeared in the eyes of would-be vocalists across the country. Adam Lambert was among those in line, and now has a successful musical career, a massive fan following, and a fresh-out-of-the-gate talent to please Lambert lovers everywhere. Adam failed to actually win American Idol, falling runner-up to winner Kris Allen, but by a margin of fewer than a million votes. His wide-ranging and star-studded current work show, however, that he, too, is an American Idol in the minds of millions of viewers.
His first album, For Your Entertainment, took fans and record stores by storm, and earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocal Pop Performance with his song, “Whatya Want From Me.” His meaningful lyrics, awesome stage presence, and forward-facing fashion sense have made him an instant hit with a special place in the hearts of fans the world over.
We are all eagerly anticipating Adam’s appearance on VH1′s “Behind the Music” on August 7, where we were expecting to hear about his new song. But on July 29, lucky participants of the Sainte Agatha Festival in Canada were treated to a live performance of the worldwide debut of Adam’s new song, “Outlaws of Love.” Received with the usual screams, shouts, hoots, and hollers from “Glamberts,” the song made a smashing impression, and, as always, left us wanting more. The message of acceptance that motivated the creation of the song is a positive impression for youngsters and the older generations alike.
If any of the other songs on his second album carry the heavy emotional weight and musical talent that we enjoyed with “Outlaws of Love,” the musical world will forever be more enriched for it. From his birth in Indiana, to his rise through the scholastic ranks of stage and song stardom, Adam emerged onto the greatest musical stages in the world. He then dazzled the nation with amazing performances on American Idol. After that, he has been able – and will continue – to provide us all with intoxicating, addicting songs that send some useful and functional messages while treating the world to energetic, emotionally charged music.
